Introducing the Intellian C200M and C700
Intellian have now launched two models of Iridium based GMDSS terminals, the C200M and C700 models will join the already established LT-3100S from Lars Thrane A/S in the Iridium-based GMDSS market place.
The Intellien models are built around their established Iridium Certus terminals and will offer enhanced voice and data capability compared to the LT-3100S terminal.

The C200 terminal has already been awarded the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) Wheelmark and UK Marine Equipment Regulations (MER) Red Ensign approval and the C700M should receive approval soon.
The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is an internationally mandated safety system established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). It is estimated that over 80,000 vessels worldwide are required to be GMDSS compliant.
The C700M will leverage the complete capabilities of the C700 Certus terminals (data rates up to 352kbs uplink and 704kbs downlink) including delivering Iridium® GMDSS, LRIT & [SSAS](Ship Security Alert System – Wikipedia) plus dependable L-band connectivity for business data and voice services in a single terminal.
The C200M terminal is capable of data rates of 176kbs up and down.
Integration with Flat-panel OneWeb terminals
Intellian state that the C200 will be able to integrate with their flat-panel OneWeb satellite terminals for non-GMDSS traffic. I expect the C700 will similarly integrate but those details have not yet been released.
